OUTCOMES OF THE LAST SESSION part3
Feb 9, 12:09 PM · Eugenia Tragaki
Lastly, the 3rd outcome deals with the importance of the Interactive Media Artworks, as the art of the future, in contrast with the traditional forms of art.
In the session M. Hansen’s article, introduce us to that idea and Paul illustrated it by showing us some examples of this new way of making art. My favourite example was the one with the growing gardens(I can’t recall the artist’s name). Thus, I picked up a similar media artwork. It is called Feed, created by Shane Cooper

This interactive media artwork is about a garden of ferns that grows with the contribution of television screens and the audience.
In a claustrophobic construction that refers to sollarium, the plants are growing under the lightning of the television screens. The screens remain open only by the presence of people around the artwork.
As a result, the plant’s growth is depended by the existence of audience.
